Immaculate Heart of Mary Hospital

The Immaculate Heart of Mary Hospital was envisioned as more than just a place for treatment—it was designed as a place of comfort, hope, and healing. Its blue façade, reflecting the color of the sky and sea surrounding Catanduanes, symbolizes calmness, trust, and care—values that lie at the heart of its service to the community.

The building features a modern façade with vertical fins, not only giving it a distinct and contemporary character but also serving a vital function. These fins act as a protective layer, designed to withstand the strong winds that often challenge the island. In doing so, the hospital stands as a symbol of resilience, ensuring that care continues even in the face of nature’s tests.

Inside, spaces were planned to promote light, ventilation, and warmth—creating an environment that uplifts both patients and staff. Natural light filters through corridors and rooms, reducing the clinical feel and fostering a sense of calm and reassurance.

The Immaculate Heart of Mary Hospital embodies the belief that healing extends beyond medicine—it begins with the environment. Every line and material choice was made to provide safety, dignity, and comfort to those who seek care within its walls. It is a sanctuary built to serve, to endure, and to heal—reflecting the compassionate spirit of Catanduanes and the people it stands for.
